Det internationale akkrediteringsorgan, ASI, har dog nu konstateret, at SQS, der har hovedsæde i Sydafrika, har fået rettet op på de alvorlige fejl og derfor er suspenderingen ophørt per 20 november 2008.

In early 2008, Accreditation Services International (ASI) – managing the FSC accreditation program – found that SGS had not adequately addressed a number of major corrective action requests (CARs). These included the extension of certificates with inadequate justification, failure to update numerous public summary reports, failure to control the unauthorized sale of timber as FSC certified by suspended or expired certificate holders and weak performance by some of its lead auditors.

SGS Qualifor’s suspension in Poland is now lifted and the company can resume work with new and existing certificate holders in the country. However, a voluntary global moratorium remains in place and SGS will not sign any new contracts for forest management certification in Poland nor in other countries covered by the moratorium.
